Emily Smith

Miss Emily
Hello! My name is Emily Smith and I am super excited to be the Family School Wellness
Worker at Elnora School! This is my third year in this role and I love being able to offer support and encouragement to our students and families! I grew up in Innisfail and then attended Red Deer College where I completed the collaborative program with The University of Calgary to earn an Honours Degree in Psychology. Since then I have worked with youth and kids in a variety of roles including group care facilities, the Youth Empowerment and Support Program and now the Family School Wellness Program. I am looking forward to getting to know the students and families here in Elnora!
What is Family School Wellness? The Family School Wellness Program is a voluntary and
confidential short-term program, designed to assist students who may be struggling with
difficulties that are affecting their ability to function at school. Family School Wellness
recognizes that a child’s academic achievement and well-being are often affected by problems related to peers, family and self. The Family School Wellness Program aims to support a child in working through these issues to achieve an overall sense of well-being in their lives. This is often in the form of one on one sessions on a variety of issues but can also be small group work or in class presentations . FSW can also help support families in accessing other services. This program runs from September to June and is free of charge. If you have any questions regarding the FSW program or services please feel free to email me at esmith@cesd73.ca
