October - Principal's Message

Dear Elnora school families,

October always makes me feel grateful. The beautiful fall colors, a successful harvest for our farmers, and the sense of routine we've found at school all remind me of how much we have to appreciate. I’m excited to see Elnora School come alive with the Turkey Trot, Halloween fun, and more in class learning opportunities in October.

In our classrooms, things are going strong. We’ve had our fire drills and lockdown practices, made a few small schedule adjustments to keep everything running smoothly and are creating a welcoming learning environment for all. . Thank you to our staff for making connections with our students and setting up for a successful year.

Extra curricular activities involve volleyball! I’m thrilled that we have enough students for a volleyball team this year including grades 6-8 and both girls and boys! A huge shoutout to Mrs. Hoppins and Mrs. Kadar for making that happen.

Our footprints have led us into solid learning routines and finding joy in our days. Our yearly focus is: “Where will your feet take you?” Next, we’ll be focusing on spreading kindness throughout our school and community; keep your eyes open for kindness!

As we soak in these beautiful fall days, I hope you take time to enjoy the little moments and all the beauty around us!

I am thankful for this amazing school of students, staff, and families who all have our students’ best interests at the heart of their work.

Warmest Regards,

Sarah Hogg, Principal

Principal Message

Dear Elnora School Parents and Families,

Welcome to a new school year!  As we stand on the threshold of a new school year, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for all that lies ahead as your new principal for the 2024/2025 school year!

Stepping into this role at Elnora School is an incredible honor.  I am eager to work alongside our dedicated teachers, staff, and you - our wonderful families - to create a nurturing and inspiring environment where each and every student can thrive.  Together, we will continue to build on the strong foundation that has been laid here, ensuring that each child feels supported, valued, and motivated to achieve their best.

This year brings not just the excitement of new beginnings, but also some positive changes that I am confident will enhance the learning experience for our students.  We are fortunate to have an outstanding team of educators and staff who are committed to your child’s success.  We welcome Kacee Ward (grade 1/2), Katie Moxness (grade 3/4), Kelly McRae (secretary/educational assistant), and Shara Smith (educational assistant).  Also returning this year to our beloved school are staff members; Shauna Peterson (kindergarten), Stacey Hoppins (grade 7/8), Maygen Harder (educational assistant/librarian), Aggie Momot (caretaker), MJ (Y.E.S. coordinator), Zeljka (F.S.W.W.), Tyler Fegen (IT), and myself (grade 5/6). We all bring with us a wealth of knowledge, creativity, energy, passion, and love for education that will surely make this school year a memorable one.  Our educational team is one of the reasons our school is so successful!

In our classrooms, you will find teachers and staff who are not just educators but also mentors and cheerleaders.  They are prepared to meet each student where they are, guiding them through their educational journey with care and expertise.  Our support staff, from the front office to our custodian are equally dedicated to making Elnora safe, welcoming and a positive place for learning.

As we take on this new school year together I encourage you to stay engaged and involved in your child’s education.  Your partnership is vital to their success, and I look forward to building strong, collaborative relationships with each of you.  In addition, parent council meetings will be held the third Thursday of each month after school, while offering an afterschool program through Youth Empowerment Services (MJ) to help ease your participation and give your child(ren) an organized/supervised activity to enjoy!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. At times, I may not be available as I am teaching, but I am always here to support you and your child in any way I can with a scheduled meeting, phone call, email, etc…

Here’s to a fantastic school year filled with growth, discovery, success and footprints that lead us all into a brighter future!

Warm regards,

Sarah Hogg, Principal

De Anne Hutchison - Elnora/Delburne Trustee

I am very proud to be the Trustee for Delburne and Elnora. I grew up in this area and have three children who currently attend Delburne Centralized School. I have volunteered on various boards in my community and within the school, and believe the school is at the heart of any community.  I have a degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability studies which has provided me the opportunity to have worked in educational and human service settings for over 23 years. I believe in lifelong learning and recognize that this journey begins with a solid educational experience throughout a student’s grade school years. I look forward to representing my community for the next 4 years.
